I will stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's boxing match.

Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
